Easy Wipe Compound is a popular printmaking ink additive. Essentially it is a tack reducer which does not affect the colour or lightfastness of the ink.
Uses for Etching / Intaglio: Unlike burnt plate oil Easy Wipe Compound will not materially affect the body of the ink. It allows for a greater ease of wiping the plate with even the stiffist of inks.
Uses for Relief: To modify block printing inks that are very tacky and are inclinded to stick to the block & leave an uneven impression.
Available in a 1/4 tube and 1lb tin. The tin is far more economical.
